Cats have taken over this set of ten paintings I call my Craven Leafage Series. I have been involved in a ten-month battle with them and I'm not sure who won, but I do feel satisfied with them at long last. They consist of many layers of different media and images. I threw acrylics, 3D paint, markers, and spray paint at them. I used brushes and drips and paper stencils, glue resist, masking tape and all weapons at my disposal to tame them. They have hints of spider webs, coiled yarn and woven lines that reference leaves, trees, birds and feathers, and finally cats.
One of ten paintings on canvas. An abstracted view of garden leaves through pink railings.
